As one of several art museums it is located in MuseumsQuartier, the former Hofstallungen. Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien, or the full name of mumok, exhibits modern art. Ortner & Ortner designed a black monolith, seeing as the wow factor is inside.

Karlheinz Essl built a museum for his own modern art collection in Klosterneuburg near Vienna. In February 2017, the art world finally sat up and noticed it when the Albertina took over the collection because of financial problems.

The architect Karl Schwanzer designed this building for the World Expo in 1958. The award-winning design still looks just as fresh today.
