5 great places for skating and sports in Vienna
1) Skate Park Prater
Prater used to be the royal family’s hunting grounds. In 1766, it opened to the public and nowadays it is an important green area for all kinds of leisure activities. It is divided in the Wurstelprater (amusement park) and the green Prater. It also has the coolest skate park. All levels!
2) Donaupark
The Donaupark opened together with the Donauturm for the international garden show in 1964. Measuring 604.000 square metres, it is actually quite large. It has retained its sixties look and feel and architecture though. As it is near the UNO-City you’ll find a very international crowd here. A good place for a run or a bungee jump.

There are various climbing halls in Vienna but this spot is the best in summer. It is situated on the Donauinsel and you can easily get there by public transport (U1 and a short walk). You can combine climbing with other activities like swimming or roller blading. Plan a day trip.
