The 4 best budget sleeps in Bruges
1) Hotel Notre Dame
Located in a white neoclassical building, this traditional hotel has some of the lowest prices in town. The owners have upgraded the bedrooms while preserving the historical feel of the building. Some rooms are quite small and the stairs are steep, but this could be the perfect spot for a young couple who just need a comfortable place to sleep.
2) Hotel Groeninghe
Located in a quiet cobbled lane, this family-run hotel occupies an old town house dating from 1858. You have to accept the creaky floorboards and steep stairs. But the rooms are comfortable for the price you pay.

3) Hotel Goezeput
Karel and Bénédicte recently renovated a 19th-century convent to create a stylish little hotel in a quiet corner of town. The guest rooms are sometimes small, but they are attractively designed, with contemporary showers, wood floors and oak beams. It’s worth asking for one of the quiet loft rooms for the view over the rooftops.
4) Snuffel
This cool, contemporary hostel was rebuilt in 2015 by Bruges firm Salens Architecten and decorated with poems cut in rusted steel plates by sculptor Maud Bekaert. With a cafe, courtyard and concert space, it’s a friendly, inspiring place to meet up with other travellers. Rooms range from six-person dorms to simple doubles.
