5 lovely swimming pools and beaches in Havana
1) Club Almendares
This club is close to the Parque Almendares. It has a nice pool with various eating and recreation facilities. The entry fee is 10 cuc that covers foods and drinks for an amount of 8 cuc.
2) Hotel Riviera
The sixteen-storey Hotel Riviera has an outdoor pool with diving boards, a three level one. It’s the only pool in Havana with that option. The pool has barely changed since it opened in the late fifties.
3) San Antonio de los Baños
Here you can enjoy a boat trip along the Río Ariguanabo. Embark at the boat dock near Hotel Las Yagrumas. A motor boat will take you on an 8-km spin. You can also rent rowing boats. While you’re there, you should also consider visiting the Museo del Humor, esq Calle 60, with its fun selection of cartoons. San Antonio de los Baños has also an arty side. Silvio Rodriguez was born here, and Gabriel García Marquez helped establish the International Cinema and TV school.
4) Playa Jibacoa
This undiscovered paradise has small and splendid beaches. Lots of Cubans come here. You can enjoy a nice time at the beach but there are also lots of interesting things to do in the surrounding area, especially with children, like taking the electric Hershey train.
5) Playa Guanabo
Playa Guanabo is a charming beach with palm trees. It is visited by mostly Cubans. Few crowds and no big hotels. Quinta avenida, the main street, has a lot cafés and shops.
