5 bars with the best live music in Berlin
1) Bar Bobu
Easy to overlook if you miss the only sign on the street. Every Wednesday Bar Bobu has a singer-songwriter evening with sometimes surprisingly good artists on stage. It’s a small place, with just a couple of chairs and tables, but it’s cosy and smoky and it serves damn good Mexicano shots.
2) Prachtwerk
Prachtwerk opened in 2014 and is an art gallery, a music venue and a cafe in one. It is a beautiful place with high ceilings. Coffee comes from Five Elephant roastery. All of their clear profits are invested in social projects in Berlin and all over the world.

3) Hangar 49
This music and art venue is oh so difficult to find, so be sure to follow the BVG (Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe – the Berlin Transport Services) footsteps. Like so many bars, it lies under the train rails but it also has a fantastic view on the Spree River. Free jam sessions every Wednesday.
4) B-Flat
B-flat is a famous jazz club in Berlin Mitte. The concept of the club: you can come here almost every night of the week and enjoy an excellent live jazz concert. Free and experimental jazz on Wednesday.
5) Quasimodo
This is one of Berlin’s oldest jazz and blues clubs. There’s a jazz basement under the Delphi cinema and the Quasimodo cafe and restaurant. In summer you can have a meal or a drink on the huge patio with its Mediterranean look and feel. Prince played here in May 1987.
