The 5 most extraordinary new buildings in Hamburg
1) Elbphilharmonie
Since the concert hall at the western point of the HafenCity opened, the critics’ voices have been silenced. The fascinating building by architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron, built on an old cocoa warehouse on the river island, brings the city a little closer to the water. Concert tickets can be had from 8 euro upwards. Around 4,5 million sightseers visited the public Plaza in 2017.
