5 great cinemas with an interesting past in Budapest
1) Uránia
Originally built for a ‘science slide show’ in 1894 in the Moorish Revival style, this large cinema was completely renovated in 2002. It’s maintained by the government, and is a great place to attend festivals and film premieres, but also English and American theatre and opera broadcasts. There are two small rooms downstairs as well.
