The best places for fresh fish in Holland
1) Simonis aan de Haven
You could call Simonis a fish dynasty. In 1880, grandfather Simonis opened an eel smokehouse in The Hague, and his descendants followed with several fish shops and stalls in and around The Hague. Their spacious location on the Scheveningen harbour opened in 1980. You can go there for kibbeling (fried fish), fresh herring or an oyster paired with a glass of wine, but also for an entire plate of fruits de mer or a salad.
