Old and new street art in Tenerife
1) Murals
In the street artist’s words: “A revolution is taking place, moving art out of the museums and into the streets”. A great job has certainly been done here by mapping out the nicest street art on the island. All you’ll need is your cell phone and the given link and you can take a tag tour to start exploring.
2) La Rambla
In 1973 Santa Cruz hosted the first International Exhibition of Street Sculptures with La Rambla as the main stage. Many artists later donated their work, thus enriching the artistic heritage of the city. Take a stroll along la Rambla and Parque García Sanabria and see exclusive sculptures by Miró, Henry Moore, Martín Chirino, Óscar Domínguez and many others.

3) Día de la Cruz
Every May 3rd, on the Day of The Cross and in remembrance of the founding of the city in 1494, the capital is brightened up with countless crosses embellished with the most colourful flowers. Adorned by associations and neighbourhoods, the compositions are then awarded for their beauty. This fiesta is also popular in Puerto de la Cruz and in Los Realejos.
