5 places to start a fun night out in Valencia
1) The Basement Soundsystem
These house music dealers pop up at venues around the city with their own brand of cool, no-nonsense events designed to get the crowd off their phones and on the dancefloor. Expect clubnights in Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències and 12-hour non-stop parties in a finca surrounded by orange groves.
2) Peter Rock Club
A timeless, live-music venue with a good crowd, Peter Rock is known as la casa del rock. Inside, the drum kit is plastered with stickers and quotes on the wall from AC/DC, among others. From Santana cover bands to Argentinian rock and local heavy metal there’s an eclectic line-up to choose from.

3) 16 Toneladas
Want to get deeper into the local music scene? Across the Túria, 16 Toneladas is rooted in 1950s rock and roll, but plays everything from 1970s funk and modern punk. They’re big fans of vinyl too; keep an eye out for disco nights, like the funk and soul parties with local DJs.
4) Radio City
Open since 1979, Radio City has always attracted artists, music heads, misfits, and folks looking to boogie. The space is split in two: one side is a pub where punters chatter over a beer, and the other is a compact club where bands and DJs play ’till the small hours.
5) Splendini Bar I Discos
DJs dance in between queuing offbeat funk and soul tracks at this record shop-meets-bar, while a chilled crowd make friends on the communal table. Like their vibe? Owners often play sets at clubs. Look out for Splendini on the line-up at places like Oven Club and Radio City.
