5 swimming spots for hot days in Seattle
1) Colman Pool
This salt water pool nestled in Lincoln Park in West Seattle is a true local gem. Enjoy views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains while you swim. Hours vary so plan ahead.
2) Matthews Beach Park
Located in North Seattle along Lake Washington, Matthews Beach Park is Seattle’s largest freshwater swimming beach. The park also offers a playground for kids, public restrooms and makes a great stop off the Burke-Gilman Trail. Lifeguards are present in the height of summer daily.

3) Georgetown Playfield Spray Park
There are a number of great spray parks and wading pools around the city of Seattle. Check the Parks Department website for the latest hours and schedules. One relatively new spray park sits in Georgetown among their playfield, tennis and handball courts and swings. Kids will enjoy cooling off in the water features after romping about the area.
4) Lake Sammamish
Just outside the city of Seattle sits Lake Sammamish, a large freshwater lake that hosts a state park with fun for anyone in your group. Work up a sweat on one of the park’s trails and then hop into the (much warmer than Puget Sound!) waters. You can rent non-motorized boats from Issaquah Paddle Sports.
5) Four Seasons Hotel Seattle
If you need another reason to be tempted to stay at the Four Seasons in Seattle, take a look at the spectacular infinity pool on the property with some of the best views you can get from downtown Seattle. There isn’t a comparable pool experience in the city. If you aren’t able to stay on site, sometimes spa services include poolside time, ask when you’re making your reservations to be sure.
